Bachelor's degree in the social sciences, criminal justice, or related fields
AND 7 years' experience working in a probation system or related organization
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Job Description
This classification level is responsible for managing, training and supervising daily activities and employees within a specialized unit, district field service division. Responsibilities may include supervising assigned unit probation officer staff; conducting presentence/predisposition reports and/or supervising an active caseload in accordance with rules and standards; assisting in completing case file reviews.

Salary:
A Probation Supervisor's salary range is $65,432.67 to $79,723.32 annually.
After probation period is completed, the Permanent wage will increase at least 2.5%. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.
Job Duties
1. Supervises assigned probation unit staff to include planning, prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.
2. Manages and directs day-to-day probation operations and functions for the assigned specialized unit; ensures conformance to work standards, operating procedures, and system policies.
3. Conducts presentence/predisposition reports and/or supervise an active caseload in accordance with system rules and regulations.
4. Trains probation staff within a specialized unit, district field service division or satellite office, in practices, policies and procedures associated with the supervision and investigation of offenders, and monitor their compliance with system standards.
5. Evaluates lower-level staff case plans and intervention strategies; ensures a standard of quality and compliance in approved strategies; provides guidance to lower-level staff regarding challenging or unique cases.
6. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements / Qualifications:
