Work Environment
Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting to a maximum of 150 lbs.
Working on raised surfaces (ladders, machines, work platforms)
Regular work in a fluctuating temperature environment (indoor & outdoor).
Exposure to grease, dirt, and some industrial chemicals.
The use of standard personal protective equipment is used and includes some of the following: safety glasses and splash shield, gloves and apron, safety shoes, harness, Hi-Vis clothing.

We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Machine Operator. This role is based in our facility in Lynchburg, Virginia, and reports to the Shift Supervisor.
Job Summary
We are seeking an upbeat individual who will be responsible to receive, inspect and prepare parts for production operations. This includes performing assembly and packaging operations as listed below.
Principal Responsibilities
Visually inspect all incoming castings and gaskets for defects
Trim excess flashing with razor according to specifications
Use plug gauges to verify that each part meets specifications
Identify and separate all rejected parts for resolution by Quality Control
Maintain grinding wheel inventory - order replacement stock through D.I. Supervisor or lead person as required
Use hand tools, compressed air tools, and various substances to assemble fittings
Complete production reports, read work orders and ensure protocol is updated to safety standards
Incumbent may be responsible to unload trucks from foundries as well as ensure Lean methodologies such as 5S and TPM
Process all vital documentation per customer requirements
Be eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills
Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.
