DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times. - Follow all Reworld safety policies, procedures, life critical rules, and safe work practices. - Participate in safe work planning activities including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work, rigging, lifting, and hazard assessments. - Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyors, pumps, compressors, fans, turbines, boilers, sootblowers, gear reducers, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, ash handling systems, and other industrial equipment throughout the facility. - Repair, replace, rebuild, and install couplings, bearings, seals, drives, motors, gearboxes, and associated mechanical assemblies. - Use shop equipment and precision measuring instruments in the repair and rebuilding of mechanical equipment and assemblies. - Perform occasional welding and fabrication work - Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, procedures, P&IDs, equipment documentation, and precision measuring tools. - Troubleshoot equipment failures and participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and plant performance. - Accurately document maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, and corrective actions within the site maintenance management system (CMMS). - Work collaboratively with Operations, E&I, contractors, and engineering teams to support safe and reliable plant operation. - Participate in emergency response, call-ins, scheduled outages, overtime, and weekend work as operationally required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS - Minimum 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment. - Licensed Industrial Millwright or equivalent. Late-stage apprentice will be considered with adequate experience. - High school diploma and/or formal technical or apprentice training required. - Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. - Experience working safely in industrial environments with strict procedural and safety expectations. - Ability to work independently and within a team environment. - Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and attention to detail. - Ability to work in physically demanding environments including climbing ladders, lifting materials, working in confined spaces, and wearing required PPE and respiratory protection. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS The following experience and qualifications are considered strong assets: - Experience in power generation, waste-to-energy, pulp and paper, petrochemical, mining, steel, cement, or similar heavy industrial facilities. - Experience with steam plant equipment and boiler auxiliary systems. - Experience with conveyors, ash handling systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment. - Experience with predictive and reliability-centered maintenance practices. - Experience with rigging, lifting, and crane-assisted maintenance activities. - Welding, fabrication, and industrial repair welding experience with CWB certification considered an asset. - Experience supporting emissions control or environmental compliance systems considered an asset. - Experience using CMMS or maintenance management software. - Familiarity with precision alignment, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring techniques. - Experience participating in major outages and shutdowns.
