Job Summary:
Oversees the coordination and prioritization of responses to service requests and emergencies; supervises the deployment of transit personnel, materials, and equipment; ensures optimal efficiency and adherence to transit schedules and policies; mentors and provides guidance to lower-level dispatchers; performs complex clerical and administrative tasks related to transit operations, including data analysis, report preparation, and record maintenance; and performs other related duties as required.

Operates and oversees the operation of a radio-telephone communication system to receive and transmit messages for public transportation and paratransit services;
Supervises and coordinates the dispatching of transit personnel, materials, and equipment in response to service requests and emergencies;
Prioritizes and makes decisions on complex and critical dispatching situations;
Provides leadership, training, and guidance to lower-level dispatchers;
Ensures adherence to transit schedules, policies, and procedures;
Monitors and logs the status and location of transit vehicles and personnel;
Prepares and maintains detailed records and reports on transit operations;
Conducts data analysis to identify trends, improve operational efficiency, and inform strategic planning;
Answers inquiries from the public and provides information or refers to the appropriate authority;
Schedules and confirms trip reservations for public transportation and paratransit services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in assignments;
Prepares and composes complex letters, reports, and other documents;
Maintains various files and records related to transit operations, such as vehicle and equipment logs, work orders, and time and leave records;
Assists in the preparation of departmental payroll and related documents;
Prepares purchase requisitions and checks invoices against receiving copies;
Conducts periodic physical inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment;
Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; and
Performs other related duties as required.
