Through SaaS and on-premise solutions, we empower clients-from central banks to asset managers-with flexibility, efficiency, and reliability. Our Global Delivery Centers, located in Manila, Noida, Kyiv, Warsaw, and Mexico City, ensure 24/7 client support. SimCorp, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Börse Group, employs over 3,000 people worldwide and is committed to platform leadership, SaaS acceleration, and ecosystem scaling, with operational excellence driving client service quality and reliability. Why is this role important to us? The Lead DevOps Engineer at SimCorp is responsible for leading the design, automation, and evolution of cloud-based platforms and supporting infrastructure within a defined product or platform area. By applying deep technical expertise, the role supports complex problem-solving and leads improvements in how the team works and delivers. With little oversight, the Lead DevOps Engineer oversees medium to large projects, establishes and upholds standards for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, security, and observability in their area, and makes sure solutions are reliable, secure, cost-effective, and maintainable. They act as a go-to expert and escalation point for complex issues, collaborate closely with product owners and other stakeholders, and guide less experienced engineers through mentoring, coaching, and day-to-day support. Key Responsibilities Could Include: Lead the design and evolution of cloud platform architecture and DevOps practices within a product or platform area, ensuring alignment with agreed technical direction. Own and drive complex, mid- to large-scale initiatives (for example, platform automation improvements, migration projects, or new delivery patterns) from concept to implementation and operation. Offer guidance on infrastructure as code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines while defining and maintaining standards that improve quality and consistency across the teams in the area. Serve as the escalation contact for complex incidents and issues, work with the appropriate teams, conduct root cause analysis, and lead sustainable corrective actions. Make informed trade-offs between reliability, performance, security, cost, and delivery speed, and guide teams in applying these trade-offs in their designs and implementations. Shape and review designs, solutions, and code changes to ensure they meet agreed standards for security, reliability, operability, and maintainability. Define and evolve monitoring, logging, and observability practices for the area, enabling effective detection, diagnosis, and prevention of issues. Drive the adoption of secure-by-design and DevSecOps principles, including identity and access management and configuration hardening, within the area. Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, robust technical solutions. Guide and support senior and other engineers by offering clear feedback, encouraging their growth, and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and ongoing improvement. Shape team or area ways of working by helping improve Scrum practices, incident management, documentation, and operational runbooks. Type of Work This Role Could Engage With: Leading the end-to-end delivery of major platform initiatives within a product or platform area, such as introducing new shared deployment patterns or executing a substantial cloud migration for that area. Designing and implementing reusable infrastructure modules and reference solutions that can be adopted by multiple teams working on related services. Defining and rolling out standard CI/CD practices and templates that improve release reliability, lead time, and deployment safety across the area. Owning the technical response to complex, cross-team incidents within the area, coordinating stakeholders, running post-incident reviews, and driving follow-up improvements. Designing and refining observability strategies (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts) that give clear insight into system health and user impact for the area. Shaping identity, access, and network designs in cloud environments to ensure secure, governed, and scalable solutions for the services in scope. Driving cross-team DevOps improvements in the area (for example, shared runbooks, common tooling, consistent security baselines, or onboarding frameworks). Providing technical leadership in design reviews, architecture discussions, and backlog refinement, helping teams make well-informed decisions and manage technical risk. Supporting the development of colleagues through pairing, coaching, and structured knowledge-sharing sessions such as tech talks or communities of practice.
