Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product

Driving and inspiring team to improve performance to meet and exceed goals
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to setup new jobs and operate various manufacturing machines is very important
Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area, Familiarity with 5S a plus.
Performing all duties as designated by plant manager and in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies
Assisting other departments as needed
Holding counterparts accountable if quality, attendance or other factors are not met.
Filling in vacancies as needed to ensure production stays on track.

5 years prior manufacturing experience preferred.
Must have core manufacturing experience.
Previous leadership experience in manufacturing leading a crew/ team is preferred.
Ability to lead by example and hold reports accountable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to do basic production-related computations.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is desired.
Ability to demonstrate integrity in relation to safety, quality, and customer service.
Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and specification sheets.
Possess a mechanical aptitude with the ability to logically troubleshoot and solve machine issues.
Possess an understanding of continuous improvement methodology and experience with continuous improvement tools
Demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities and lead improvements
Must have knowledge of computer-based programs - Word, Excel, Power Point
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Forklift Experience preferred.
