Support the Group Head of Privacy Operations and Data Protection Officer in maintaining the Sky Group privacy vision, strategy and culture within the UK and Ireland businesses.
Champion the implementation of Privacy by Design (PbD) principles across all product lines, embedding privacy into the architecture, design, and development of systems and services.
Collaborate and influence business stakeholders and support engineering, data, technology and product teams to understand data protection obligations to ensure privacy is considered from ideation through deployment and embedded throughout the organisation, supporting processes where appropriate.
Enhance and enforce PbD policy and framework, including data minimization, purpose limitation, and user-centric design. Identifying improvements for data protection and privacy risk assessment in response to developments in Artificial Intelligence and the use of Large Language Models.
Partner with product development teams to implement privacy controls within relevant products and in the product development process.
Support the wider data protection assurance programme and work with the business in relation to internal audits.
Help evolve and deliver privacy training across the business, using creative techniques to drive awareness and embed understanding to help mitigate privacy and data protection risks
Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Data teams to ensure alignment on privacy requirements for products and services.
Working with the data protection analysts, develop and deliver targeted training programs to promote a privacy-first mind-set among our technology, data and security teams.
Foster a culture of accountability and transparency around data protection.
Stay current with emerging technologies and evolving privacy regulations to guide innovation responsibly.
Requirements
Degree or equivalent in related field; Legal, Data Protection, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management or Data Protection.
Ability to find practical, pragmatic and creative solutions in commercial situations, as business needs change whilst maintaining high privacy and data security standards.
Capable of independently making sound and quick decisions and clearly articulate them to a wide audience.
Ability to flex approach, work independently and use initiative within a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
Excellent organisational and planning skills, that drive delivery through to completion, including the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively and handle multiple deadlines
Strong stakeholder management skills: building relationships with the ability to facilitate decision making and escalation of risk, with proven experience of facing off to director and exec level stakeholders.
IAPP CIPP/E or equivalent recognised professional standard.
Adaptability - to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

This new role will assist the Group Head of Privacy Operations and Data Protection Officer in delivering the data protection and privacy compliance programme with a focus on Artificial Intelligence. You will be expected to advise on all aspects of data privacy in accordance with the regulatory DPO requirements set out by data protection laws and regulation as well as the AI legislation, as they apply to Innovative technologies ensuring that privacy remains a foundational element of our technology and business processes.
Providing appropriate focus on data privacy as it relates to AI within the Group as a key risk area by providing strategic expert advice and direction on data protection, governance and accountability, working closely with key functions such as Compliance, Security, Technology and Data.
The Ideal candidate will be a problem solver, self-motivated, proactive, flexible and have extensive first-hand proficiency when advising the business on major global and UK data protection frameworks, the behind the scenes working of the internet, and privacy and regulatory compliance in addition to excellent writing and communication skills, comfortable with ambiguity, and a proven record of providing exemplarity support to key stakeholders .
