Provides administrative and operational support for research, clinical, and educational missions and related projects.
Assist Section Chief and Section Administrator with operational and administrative needs as requested.
Manages the overall laboratory operations, space, and related strategic planning across the Section.
Provide support for budget processes, effort reporting and tracking, and research operations.
Assist with website updates, including requests related to recruitment and outreach. Assist in the recruitment process of faculty members and coordinate documentation, licensure, and credentialing to ensure the timely and accurate processing of faculty appointments and promotions.
Coordinate the academic appointment and promotion process and maintain academic personnel records.
Coordinates special projects as directed by the leader. Prepares write-ups for recommendations for operational and administrative problems. May manage a portion of the leader's budget, monitoring and reconciling accounts. May help prepare financial and/or administrative reports.
Organize and coordinate events including but not limited to conferences, event planning retreats, job fairs, health fairs, leadership meetings, holiday and social gatherings, and other events for the Section.
Assists with facility problems such as furniture ordering and repairs, construction and special projects, telecommunication requests, plant department requests, environmental issues, and other emergencies.
Coordinate construction and renovation projects, implement space assignments including the annual space survey.
Organize or manage routine lab needs, including: bulk purchasing, CO2 system monitoring, equipment recertification and calibration, service contracts, equipment inventory/audits, building access requests, etc.
Oversee all shared-equipment; secure quotes for replacements, manage ordering and installation of new and replacement equipment.
Help new faculty with lab startup and manage lab faculty departures, as well as equipment requests and equipment inventory management.
Communicate important updates and information to faculty and lab staff, as needed; provide comprehensive quarterly updates to Section leadership.
Ensure laboratory research compliance with relevant University and BSD policies and guidelines.
Perform lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Works independently to assist with project design. Serve as the main point of contact for lab faculty and staff issues and concerns.
Solves complex problems relating to the administration of projects, including planning new procedures, adapting existing procedures to the needs of the project, and making significant contributions to methodology.
Assist with administrative fellowship program tasks including recruitment.
Assist with onboarding research staff for all Faculty recruits, including but not limited to university applications.
Professionally supports the clinical department management. Implements plans for clinical educational programs and initiatives.
Acts as a liaison between the section and other University departments.
Performs other related work as needed.
Requirements
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in health administration, public health, business, accounting or health/human services field.
Experience in Academic Medical Center/Hospital setting.

Job Summary
The Operations Manager will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Section of Cardiology, collaborate closely with Section administrator in providing operational support, fellowship support, laboratory operations support and research related tasks. Additionally, this includes related strategic planning tasks across the section.
