As a member of the Warehouse team, the Inventory Control (IC) Specialist III plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, efficient product flow, and strong inventory controls within the Distribution Center. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing system and physical inventory activity, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and partnering with Operations to support accurate, efficient warehouse execution.
Responsibilities
Investigate inventory variances by researching system transactions, physical inventory results, location activity, and operational processes.
Perform inventory reconciliations to ensure alignment between physical inventory, system inventory, and operational records.
Execute inventory adjustments within established protocols, ensuring accuracy, documentation, and compliance with internal controls.
Prepare and communicate inventory reporting to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
Manage WMS transactions, including reviewing, validating, correcting, and supporting inventory-related system activity.
Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and partner with Operations to implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
Lead and support physical inventory activities, cycle counts, audits, and inventory validation processes.
Own inventory accuracy metrics and KPIs, monitor performance, communicate results, and take actions to improve accuracy.
Support audit responsibilities by maintaining accurate records, validating inventory processes, and ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures.
Requirements
Strong attention to detail with an accuracy-driven and analytical mindset.
Ability to interpret data and reports to identify trends, and discrepancies.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel.
Ability to work in a structured, process-oriented environment.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable attendance and flexibility to work seasonal mandatory overtime as needed.
Ability to learn tasks quickly and work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers.
Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend in English.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
Understanding of inventory control procedures, cycle count programs, and internal controls.
Experience using RF scanning systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
2-3 years of relevant warehouse or inventory control experience preferred.
Certified Forklift Operator or willingness to become certified.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 10+ hours per day.
Ability to lift 15-50 lbs. regularly from floor to waist level.
Ability to work at heights up to 30-40 feet.
Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and body on a regular basis.
Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment, including reach and wave trucks, order pickers, and similar equipment.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
