Install and terminate security cabling (composite cables, Cat5e/6, coaxial, fiber optic) in accordance with project requirements.
Mount, connect, and calibrate security hardware, including cameras and card readers.
Program security systems such as access control panels and video surveillance equipment.
Conduct daily maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of security devices and associated cabling.
Interpret blueprints, site plans, and job specifications to ensure proper installation.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed (service records, programming notes, and reports).
Uphold safety regulations, union guidelines, and client standards at all times.
Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades.
Participate in ongoing union training to stay current with security technology.

Additional Responsibilities
Education, Experience, or Certifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Requirements
Minimum two (2) years experience in security cabling installation or related low-voltage work.
Familiar with IP-based security systems.
Certifications and Licenses:
Local 134 C or B card journeyman electrician in good standing with the union.
BICSI, NICET, or manufacturer credentials preferred.
Technical proficiency in low-voltage electrical work.
Valid driver's license.
Technical Knowledge or Skills:
Proficient in computer, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Proficient in use of hand/power tools and test equipment.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements :
Work takes place at institutional sites with exposure to confined spaces and heights.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work on ladders.
May require travel between job sites.
