Have end to end ownership and understanding of the financial performance for your area including conveying results to stakeholders
Financial lead for key deliverables including monthly results, in year reforecasts, budget, and long range plan across P&L, Capital Expenditure, and Cash
Use your insight and experience to solve complex business problems and provide recommendations on how to drive more value
Key commercial input to decision making for your area including deep dive analysis, investment decisions, deal renewals, risk management, etc.
Be responsible for managing the controls environment and execution for your area, resolving or escalating any deficiencies
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the finance team and wider Sky business to land your finance agenda and drive change - you will often be the most senior finance person in the room
Manage a team of qualified commercial finance analysts and finance graduates, providing clear direction and balancing team priorities to meet objectives and focus on value-add tasks
Set clear development plans for your direct reports, reviewing together regularly and providing actionable feedback and support
Lead by example in your direct team and wider finance team to embed our culture and Sky finance People Agenda
Act as ambassador for Sky Finance, both with the business and externally
Requirements
Experience working in a Commercial Finance role in industry, within a complex organisation
A strong eye for detail and a deep understanding of financial metrics and performance for the area you are responsible for
High commercial acumen, analytical skills, and strategic thinking when presented with numbers or problems
A questioning mindset, challenging the status quo and finding ways for us to be better
Comfortable with ambiguity - being able to cut through noise, provide clarity, and guide decision making
Experience managing a strong financial controls environment
Effective communication skills with the ability to simplify the complex in a clear and understandable way for peers, senior management and non-finance stakeholders
Record of building strong relationships with key partners within finance and wider business teams
Ability to work autonomously at pace and manage multiple / changing priorities through your team
Experience in direct line management of a team
Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams to achieve their full potential
ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) with 3-4+ years PQE
