Suggest and support continuous improvement initiatives for products, processes, and systems, and verify implementation effectiveness.
Primary Duties
Design and develop new plastic injection molds for prototype and production manufacturing.
Update, modify, and maintain existing and legacy mold designs.
Collaborate with Application Development Engineers (PD) on new projects and product design modifications.
Partner with Plant Managers and Tooling Managers to ensure mold designs meet plant-specific requirements.
Improve manufacturability by updating and refining product designs.
Create 3D CAD models of piece parts, mold components, and tooling.
Develop, maintain, and revise mold and tooling design drawings.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new mold construction.
Maintain and revise piece-part detail drawings and customer documentation.
Communicate with external vendors regarding new mold builds and updates to existing tooling.
Develop part shrinkage models and drawings to define mold steel geometry.
Evaluate prototype and production parts and implement necessary tooling adjustments.
Support the startup of new production tooling.
Follow up with plant teams to ensure satisfaction with tooling performance.
Perform all duties in compliance with applicable ISO standards.
Adhere to and promote all company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
