Reimagine What's Possible
The Piping & Layout Engineer supports the execution of global Air Separation Unit (ASU) projects by preparing safe‑by‑design, high‑quality piping and plant layout deliverables. The role supervises Designers (Local Design Institute), coordinates across disciplines, and ensures alignment with Air Products' engineering standards and PDO work processes to support predictable project execution.
In addition, this position will be required to perform ASU piping design responsibilities and provide proper judgment in reviewing third parties' piping design drawings. He/she will be also expected to provide piping design and construction material estimation to support PDE (project development engineers). This position is expected to provide technical review, coaching and general supervision to other team members.
Nature and Scope
Execute piping and layout engineering deliverables for ASU projects within PDO's global execution framework.
Supervise designers (Local Design Institute) preparing 2D/3D piping layouts, isometrics, pipe supports, MTOs and stress engineering.
Develop piping routing concepts, layouts, and ensure constructability and maintainability in designs.
Support 3D model development including clash detection and resolution.
Ensure compliance with Air Products' standards and applicable ASME/ANSI/API piping codes.
Interface with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, C&S and Construction teams for integrated design.
Participate in model reviews, design audits, HAZID/HAZOP, and constructability assessments.
Support vendor document reviews and technical clarifications during engineering and construction.
Contribute to discipline standardization, digital engineering adoption, and lessons learned application.
