About the role
The Sr. Analyst will be a subject matter expert regarding product certifications, product testing, standards and building codes for all Westlake Royal Building Products Roofing product categories . DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: Communicate with Product Management, Product Development and Sales to determine and explain requirements for building codes and/or certifications. Facilitate project planning and execute the plan for certification approvals. Act as principal contact with 3rd party engineers, test labs and Certification Bodies for assigned projects and product categories. Actively represent Westlake Royal Building Products in industry organizations on technical and code related matters. Responsible for coordinating with marketing teams to keep all marketing collateral up to date with current certifications- including web sites, intranet, literature, packaging, etc. Provide technical and code knowledge to internal and external customers. Monitor the marketplace, technology, code compliance activities/needs and market trends. Looks for external best practices and adjusts to new realities. Provides expert advice to ensure product certification goals align with the WRBP product strategies. Responsible to for creation and maintenance for 3-part specifications for products as required. Collect, maintain and distribute appropriate SDS, Product Information Sheets and other safety documents related to product responsibilities. Provide guidance on industry compliance requirements, appropriate application of testing standards and ensure product certifications and performance meet market requirements. Educate building officials, engineers and architects Performing other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager Must be able to travel via car and airplane to a variety of locations, including international locations. Approximate over-night travel time is up to 50%to management, as well as active participation on project teams EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required, engineering disciplines preferred Must be a self-starter with seven (7) plus years of quality and/or certification experience. Proven track record of success in product certifications Proven ability to lead cross functional and specialized teams. Excellent written and oral communication and presentations skills Advanced skill in understanding building products applications and building code conditions of use. Proven ability to interact and communicate with persons of various backgrounds in order to provide technical support for products, communicate technical topics to non-technical people and diffuse tense situations. Must be able to work effectively and positively with all organizational levels. Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documents such as: installation instructions, architectural blueprints, construction plans, product specifications and building codes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based applications required Possess strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple project assignments PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
