Job Summary:
Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. .
Shift
This is a full-time day shift position. The shift is 7:00am - 7:00pm, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends.
About the Burn Unit
The Burn unit is a 23 bed unit (8 ICU and 15 Stepdown) with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:2 on the ICU side and 1:3-4 on the Stepdown side. We are a Level 1 Burn Center providing care to teenagers and adults, including:
- continuum of care from ICU to stepdown, through discharge
- thermal, chemical and electrical burns
- frostbite and hypothermia
- dermatological conditions
- reconstructive surgery
