Job Summary: The Student Support Service employee supports the day-to-day operational functions of the Student Code of Conduct, ensures disciplinary policies are followed, assists with school-based behavior modification systems and initiatives, and aids in morning admission, afternoon dismissal, and lunch periods for the school. Essential Functions: Works in conjunction with the Dean of Students to promote and maintain a positive culture and climate in the specified school Coordinates the efforts of all relevant team members in the school Receives referrals and confers with students, parents, and teachers to help meet the needs of struggling students Supervises students on campus before and after school; monitors students during lunch Instructs students in appropriate behavior Facilitates and maintains systematic processes and procedures for student conduct and social behavior Facilitates conferences with stakeholders including but not limited to the following; parents, staff (regarding student progress), outside agencies, and students Researches and presents alternative means, new ideas, and different approaches to aid in achieving student success Possesses fluent knowledge of the school's behavioral database system and ensures the accuracy of disciplinary records Maintains accurate records including all school-based behavior modification systems Assists teachers to better understand and work more effectively with students having school-related concerns including but not limited to; academic, behavioral, social, and emotional Assists with facilitating admission and dismissal process and procedure Assists with facilitating after-school events and activities sponsored by the school Pushes into classroom, assisting teachers with classroom management Pulls out of classroom, offering direct behavior interventions Performs other related duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: High School diploma Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred Experience working with a diverse population including, but not limited to, low to moderate income families Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties required Available for extended days and retreats when required Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance FBI Criminal Background Clearance Demonstrated Knowledge of: Behavior modification programs, preferably Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), or its equivalent The community climate and community values Positive parenting techniques Conflict resolution skills School Policies and Procedures Demonstrated Ability to: Work well with staff, students, and parents Effective oral and written communication Organize and implement various programs and objectives to achieve assigned goals Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action Regard sensitive material in a confidential manner Note: CCCS has the exclusive right to alter this job description at any time.
