E-Bike Software Developer - Motor Functions E-Bike Software Developer - Motor Functions (m/f/d) | 100% | Cham, Switzerland
Job Summary
To strengthen our eBike development team in Cham, Switzerland, we are seeking a E-Bike Software Developer - Motor Functions to commence immediately or by agreement.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of motor related application and functions that define system behavior and rider experience. The position focuses on application logic, functional behavior, and system interaction rather than low level motor control algorithm development.
You will apply deep software expertise combined with strong physical system understanding to create robust, well validated motor functions across bench, system, and bike level.
Internally, you will work closely with Ride Control, System Engineering, Software and Quality teams. Externally, you will have a chance to collaborate with motor suppliers on application and integration topics.
How You'll Make a Difference
Motor Functions Development
Develop and own motor application functions (assist and torque behaviour, functional limits and protections, derating and thermal strategies, system dependent motor behaviour, determining and setting right gear, etc.)
Translate rider experience goals and system requirements into clear, testable functions
Own motor functions across the full development lifecycle (concept → implementation → calibration → validation)
Advanced Modeling, Simulation
Analyze system and motor behavior to design and validate robust functions
Use data from testing to evaluate interactions, limits, and improvements
Application-Level Software Development
Develop and implement motor functions
Work confidently and independently in C, C++, knowledge of Zephyr OS is a plus
Debug multi‑layer behaviour across software, hardware, and system boundaries
Testing, Validation & Field Support
Help to define and execute application-level test cases for motor functions
Support bench, system, and bike-level testing activities
Analyse issues using data-driven methods and physical system understanding
Cross Functional & Supplier Collaboration
Act as a technical expert for motor application and function topics
Align functional behaviours within mechanical, electrical, and system constraints
Continuously improve development, validation, and release processes
Go out, ride, observe system behaviour, and feed insights back into development
