Operates Vanderbilt Licensed ambulances while responding to emergent and non-emergent transports.
Administers prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of licensure or certification.
Conducts regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present, clean, and in proper working order.
Performs and documents safe, efficient and accurate transport dispatch information. Assists with patient care and transfers to VCH in designated patient care areas within scope of practice.

Neonatal/ Pediatric Transport
Job Summary:
Working closely with the NICU, PICU, PCICU, and Pediatric Emergency Department, the Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team provides transport services from our referring hospitals to our tertiary care center. We provide specialized neonatal and pediatric transport services for children who require expert medical care at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Our transport team receives specialized training for assisting with deliveries of neonates, managing respiratory distress, congenital heart disease, and complex pediatric diagnosis. Our patients receive unique care that is delivered in a pediatric friendly ambulance that has specialized, age-appropriate equipment. Our transport program emphasizes teamwork and focuses quality and safety for both our internal and external customers.
This position is for an Advanced EMT who will be based out of the Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team's Clarksville Base after completion of orientation to the team and functions of the role.
JOB ROLE
The AEMT is responsible for providing the necessary basic life support care of the sick and injured neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with hospital policies, local, state, and national standards of practice. As key member of the Neonatal and Pediatric Transport team, the AEMT assists the nurse and respiratory therapist team members to provide care while at bedside of the referring facility. Once in route, it is the AEMT's role to facilitate the safe and timely transport of the patient and transport team.
