Material Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage material planning and scheduling for direct material / commodities (for example Spec Gases, Grind wheels, Tapes, Pads, indirect materials and standard packaging)
• Point of contact between Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers.
• Ensure on‑time delivery of materials onsite.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery.
• Resolve problem receipts that pertain commodities (DQFs).
• Maintain material safety stock levels (min-max) within MRP systems.
• Regular meetings with suppliers to identify any supply chain risks, including shortages and supplier performance issues.
• Collaborate with Procurement to support supplier negotiations and dual‑sourcing initiatives.
• Support new product introduction
• Support Procurement Team with necessary documents required for Supply Chain Review Board.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or similar preferred.
• Working towards CIPS or CPIM qualification desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in material scheduling or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
