As a UVA Welcome Desk Student Ambassador, you'll be the friendly face that greets guests, prospective students and their families, alumni, and community members who walk through the doors of the Virginia Guesthouse. You'll help answer questions, share insider tips about UVA and Charlottesville, assist with events and social activities, and help make "The Living Room" a hub of energy and connection.
You'll work closely with the Program Director for the Emmet Ivy Corridor gaining real-world experience in events, community engagement, and communications, all while representing the best of UVA.
This position is for Summer 2026 and has the potential for students to work upwards of 40 hours a week.
Responsibilities
Welcome and assist UVA visitors, conference guests, and community members
FWS possible - Summer 2026 UVA Welcome Desk Ambassador - Emmet Ivy Corridor (Student Wage) at Uva
Share info about UVA, the Emmet Ivy Corridor, and local attractions
Support event setup and logistics (think socials, meetups, and community programs)
Answer phone and email inquiries
Help with daily desk operations and occasional special projects

Previous customer service or event experience is a plus but not required. All majors and class years are encouraged to apply.

Compensation: $13.00-$14.50
This position is expected to start on May 11th, 2026.
