Senior Project Engineer
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead the engineering design and technical sign-off for large, complex projects, ensuring delivery aligns with operational objectives and project timelines. You will drive technical excellence by guiding teams to solve complex engineering challenges, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will inspire and mentor engineers, fostering capability uplift and embedding best-practice design standards. You will also champion innovation and continuous improvement, contributing to the evolution of AGL's engineering standards, processes, and ways of working.
Responsibilities
Developing scope of works, engaging and coordinating with external multi-disciplinary engineering consultants to deliver on all required engineering design deliverables to meet project scope.
Engaging with suppliers and undertaking tender processes for procurement of major materials and components on projects.
Assisting the Project Delivery Team to resolve technical issues encountered during the installation and adjust designs and drawings as needed and communicating with Project Team, Installers and Customers as required.
Working cross-functionally with Sales, Delivery and Engineering through the bid management/contract execution process.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and either Chartered or working towards Chartership with Engineers Australia (or equivalent in other countries), coupled with PV Design, BESS or Stand Alone Power Systems Design Accreditation.
Experience in design and construction of ground mount solar PV or BESS systems greater than 3MW with high voltage connections as well as comprehension of microgrid systems, including integration into existing distributed energy resources.
Experience working in cross disciplinary delivery teams, taking the lead engineering role and demonstrating commitment to a culture of health and safety.
Knowledge and experience with relevant design and engineering software (AutoCad, PowerCad, PVSyst).
Well-developed, detail orientated organization skills and good interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills.
