The Deployment Lead is a key member of a specialised global team responsible for launching laboratory services at new sites, embedding ALS Culture with respect to Safety, Quality and Technical standards across diverse international environments, and training local staff. The role involves extensive international travel and extended periods in the field. Specific Responsibilities: Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality; Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures; Lead the setup and commissioning of new laboratory sites, covering sample receiving and preparation through to analytical instrumentation and data review workflows; Deliver practical training programs to site staff across varied technical and cultural backgrounds; develop and maintain the training materials and SOPs that underpin them; Assess staff competency against defined ALS standards and sign off readiness to operate independently; Troubleshoot issues across laboratory workflows-sample prep, instrumentation, data quality, reporting-drawing on remote support and subject matter experts as needed; Conduct quality audits to verify that sites are meeting ALS operational and technical standards; Build working relationships with site management, local staff, and client representatives; communicate deployment progress through structured handover and review reports; Support deployment planning logistics, including equipment readiness and cross-training coordination; Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Hands-on experience in geochemical laboratory operations across laboratory workflows Experience in laboratory operations or laboratory deployment environments Ability to deliver or support training in practical laboratory settings Experience across multiple laboratory functions, including sample preparation and analytical techniques Strong cultural awareness with the ability to adapt and communicate across diverse international environments Resilient, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in remote or resource-constrained settings Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a field team Strong commitment to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards Multilingual capability is an asset; French or Spanish preferred Required Qualifications B.Sc. in Chemistry or a related field, or equivalent work experience 1-3+ years of experience in a geochemical laboratory Experience in laboratory operations or deployment support activities Physical Demands Ability to travel internationally frequently (up to 50% of time) Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions in remote and operational sites Ability to stand for extended periods during hands-on training and laboratory operations Ability to work flexible hours across time zones, including occasional evenings or weekends Our benefits include: An estimated annual salary of $80,000 - $90,000 at the time of posting.
