Job Summary The Operational Excellence (OE) and Human Performance (HP) Sr. Consultant is a leader in Vistra's continuous improvement strategy. The OE & HP Sr Consultant is a subject matter expert in all aspects of Human Performance, Lean Thinking, Influence Strategy and other OE/HP strategies. This role will work closely with leadership teams and the OE team to ensure successful implementation of OE/HP strategies. Focus will be on assisting in training and development of leaders in order to create a culture of learning, engagement, and continuous improvement. Assisting in the development, refinement, and implementation of training, tools, and other strategies for improving human and organizational performance and assisting leadership in learning from events in order to improve and prevent recurrence. Job Description Pay grade and salary will be determined by education and experience. Key Accountabilities: Assist site and fleet leaders in identifying and delivering cross functional cost reduction initiatives, often leading improvement-focused teams. Work closely with OE team and leaders to lead Human Performance and Operational Excellence efforts to improve reliability, safety, financial, and cultural goals. Plan, deploy, and maintain a culture of learning, agility, and Continuous Improvement. Coordinate with OE team and leaders to ensure all employees have the training, practice, encouragement, modeling, coaching, and reinforcement to effectively deploy OE and HP tools, tactics, strategies, and philosophies. Seek new ideas with vision of how things fit together in the big picture. Also see how an idea that has merit in one area of the business has can deliver equal or even better benefits in other areas. Lead projects, gain buy-in, complete tasks, goals, and measure outcomes Build strong skills as a coach, facilitator, leader, influencer, and strategist Consult at all levels of the organization and across boundaries Develop personal mastery and be open to continued self-growth and learning. Mentor OE Consultants and Specialists and serve as quality assurance for Consultants and Specialist led projects. Stay current on the most up to date thinking related to human performance, operational learning, HRO, psychological safety, resilience engineering, lean manufacturing/ production/ maintenance. Conduct assessment of the HPI/Lean programs through independent audits. Provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the business on the use and practice a variety of HPI/Lean tools creating a culture of continuous improvement. Assist in the development, improvement, and delivery of OE and HP training for all levels of the organization. Be an operational learning SME: Learning teams, cause analysis, AARs, OHPS, etc. Liaison between plant facilitates, Corporate OE, and VPs. Education, Experience, Skill Requirements Bachelor's Degree in HRD, Psychology, OD, Industrial Engineering, or related field is desired. Minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Performance, Organizational Development, and/or Process Improvement highly preferred. Up to 25% travel required. Professional certifications desired: Latent Cause Analysis, RCA, Just Culture, Influencer, Lean/Six Sigma, etc. Strong mentoring, training and coaching skills. Must be willing and able to change priorities and plans based on business needs. Ability to develop and deliver training geared towards all levels of the organization (front line through to top management). Proven expertise in lean transformation tools and techniques Must be a superior communicator with small and large groups of varying seniority across multiple organizations. Ability to effectively solve problems, lead problem-solving, and develop problem-solvers and problem-solving solutions. Key Metrics $35 million in incremental improvement from 2023 lean efforts Yearly Human Performance Assessments and culture survey outcomes Reduction of SIFs, other injuries, and environmental impacts.
