Review and interpret geochemical and mineralogical data, including static testing data related to Acid Base Accounting (ABA) and related data.
Collaborate with other geochemists and scientists to acquire relevant geochemical data and develop inputs to water and contaminant load balance models.
Contribute to planning and implementing projects, including QA/QC and the presentation of results in tabular and graphical formats, and preparing reports.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Requirements
Minimum five years of experience as Geochemist, which must include relevant consulting experience in the mining sector, including mine waste geochemistry assessment
Professional registration or eligibility is required (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)
Academic background in geology, geochemistry, engineering, biology, or other relevant specializations. Master's degree would be considered an asset.
Knowledge and experience with applicable federal and provincial regulations and guidelines, preferably with a working knowledge of British Columbia, Ontario, Yukon, and/or Northwest Territories mine permitting processes.
Ability to prepare technical reports in accordance with regulatory guidelines, and to communicate and liaise effectively with members of regulatory bodies, industry, special interest groups and First Nations are also required
Valid driver's license, and willingness to undertake short term travel for project meetings and fieldwork when needed.

As our new Geochemist, you will play an important role in broadening SLR's expertise in integrated Mine Water Management, supporting projects and offices across Canada and potentially abroad. We offer the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, with primarily remote work arrangements possible for suitable candidates.
Role
We are seeking a Geochemist to join our team of hydrogeologists, geochemists, and water resource engineers in western Canada. Within our team, you will support projects in Canada, Australia, and Chile, where SLR provides expertise to mining companies and government agencies on aspects of our project work related to Acid Rock Drainage (ARD) and Metal Leaching (ML).
You will work with our geochemists and hydrogeologists in a range of field and office tasks, including rock/water sampling as part of an ARD/ML assessment, drilling supervision, data visualization and interpretation, and reporting. You will be given the opportunity to develop advanced groundwater modeling skills and/or water and load balance modeling using Excel or GoldSim.
This position will require a highly motivated individual who has a passion for geoscience and is seeking to develop a broad skill set. You will be working out of one of SLR's B.C. offices and your work will require you to travel to our Canadian and international project sites.
