General Notes
Supports the daily operations of a high-enrollment teaching lab course, ensuring that materials, equipment, and spaces are prepared for hands-on student activities. Manages inventory, restocks supplies, monitors equipment, and oversees the proper handling of biohazardous and chemical waste. Trains and coordinates undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants and directly assist in teaching students during lab activities. In collaboration with the lead instructor, contributes to the design and testing of lab activities to improve student learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
Biology course work, course work in upper division science courses, or work experience in a biological laboratory setting.
Must have a solid understanding of the concepts of modern cell, molecular, and organismal biology as well as experience using the equipment and advanced instrumentation commonly found in the modern biology laboratory.
Experience making solutions.
Responsible individual with good judgment and demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Self-starter with the ability to work well within a fast-growing team environment and be able to work with minimal daily supervision.
Ability to multi-task and be well organized, execute excellent time management skills, and pay careful attention to details, as well as have excellent communication skills.
