As the primary Tanzania HR point of contact for workers, clients, and in-country partners, this role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle and ensuring seamless coordination across all HR functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws, HR best practices, and the ability to manage complex HR matters in a fast-paced, global environment. This role requires a proactive, consultative mindset, with the ability to anticipate client needs, mitigate risks, and provide practical, compliant solutions. How you will make a difference: 1. HR Business Partnering Serve as the primary HR contact for GEO workers and client representatives in Tanzania Provide compliant HR advisory across the full employee lifecycle (onboarding to offboarding) Advise clients on performance management, compensation, promotions, and employee relations Apply a consultative approach to understand underlying client needs and risks 2. Employment Contracts & Documentation Draft, review, and manage employment contracts and related documentation Handle contract amendments (salary/title changes, probation extensions, renewals) Ensure all documentation aligns with Tanzanian labour law and client requirements 3. Employee Relations & Labour Law Compliance Manage disciplinary processes in line with Tanzanian legal frameworks Lead and support employee terminations, ensuring procedural and legal compliance Handle labour disputes, grievances, and escalations professionally and effectively Escalate complex legal matters to senior HR or legal counsel where required 4. Payroll & HR Administration Oversight Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely salary processing Oversee statutory compliance including PAYE, social security, and other filings Ensure proper HR administration and employee record management 5. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian employment laws and internal policies Maintain and update HR policies, handbooks, and process documentation Identify and proactively mitigate compliance and operational risks 6. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration Partner with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Operations, Sales) for seamless service delivery Provide guidance and coaching to client managers on HR matters Maintain strong relationships with local partners and regulatory bodies 7. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Prepare HR reports and respond to client data requests Support audits and due diligence processes Identify process improvements to enhance service delivery and compliance. What will make you stand out: Academic & Professional Requirements Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Human Resource Management ,Industrial Relations, Business Administration (HR Specialisation) , Labour Law / Employment Relations Experience; Diploma in a relevant field with a minimum of 5+ years' HR experience OR Bachelor's degree with minimum 3+ years' relevant HR experience Professional Membership Registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Human Resource Managers Tanzania (AHRMT) is highly preferred Experience & Technical Competence Strong working knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws and HR compliance requirements Strong working knowledge of Iinternational labor laws, employment practices, and HR compliance. Regional HR management experience within Eastern Africa is an added advantage, especially Rwanda.
