Position Description Vantage is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to be part of our Mission Critical engineering team, positioned at the forefront of an exciting growth market. In this role, you will act as the client-side electrical technical authority for VDC design projects, driving electrical design direction, providing technical leadership, developing specifications, managing design consultants, supporting contractor interfaces, and leading the transition from design to installation and eventually to operations. Collaboration with various teams is expected as you navigate complex engineering challenges, ensuring project standards are met and enhanced. Your role will include providing electrical engineering support for early-stage feasibility, test-fit, and concept design before external consultants are engaged, while helping to shape future VDC design solutions in response to new customer requirements, delivery strategies, and emerging technologies. Within Vantage's collaborative environment, you will interface with stakeholders and work closely with customer experts to translate requirements into practical, scalable solutions. VDC leads design intent internally, and when design consultants are appointed, you will direct and challenge them to develop solutions that best align with VDC standards, business objectives, and customer needs. This position will significantly contribute to Vantage's profitability and success. Essential Job Functions Lead electrical desig n element for internal development of early-stage feasibility, test-fit and concept design . Manage external electrical engineering partners while setting technical direction and driving them toward solutions that best align with VDC standards, customer requirements, and business objectives. Collaborate with product team to develop future VDC electrical design solutions by responding to new customer requirements, emerging technologies, and value engineering opportunities for implementation across projects. Drive & be accountable for project-level tasks and milestones Act as the client-side electrical technical authority for VDC-led design direction and review of design consultant design documents Support design consultant review of technical submittals, RFIs and engineering studies/assessments during construction , providing support where necessary. Visit job sites for field investigations and coordination meetings Lead on the development of the standardized and optimized electrical equipment in the OFCI inventory program and actively support the OFCI procurement teams with technical advice and direct collaboration with vendors. Creation and evaluate of high value engineering and innovation ideas, and provide recommendations based on business-related cost-benefit analyses. Proactively engage with internal and external partners, to identify and exploit lessons to implement good ideas and resolve recurring issues. Deliver electrical designs using Design for manufacture and assembly ( DfMA ) principles , focusing on modular, standardized, and prefabricated solutions ( MV, LV, UPS, Generator, HAC , etc.) Support development of fungible building blocks , enabling scalable and repeatable design across projects Represent the business in technical workshops with the customers Report on weekly basis to the Vantage leadership on design progress, blockers, risks and assignment of priorities
