Surgery Scheduler

About the role

The Surgery Scheduler coordinates and schedules inpatient and outpatient surgeries and procedures with anesthesia, team leaders, surgeons, physician offices, and other hospital departments to ensure correct equipment, tools, and time are allocated for procedures. Job Description: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Schedules requests for surgeries and procedures to accommodate appropriate parties. Demonstrates service skills to provide an exceptional customer service experience. Proactively problem solves access to meet stakeholder needs and optimize resource utilization. Performs administrative tasks related to the surgery/procedure to ensure timely delivery of care, including obtaining or verifying prior authorization or performing patient registration. Addresses patterns of access concern and escalates to appropriate leader or group.
