Essential Duties:
Ensures departmental entries and account reporting, including budget, forecast and actuals.
Supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities through analysis of financial results and trends.
Monitors account expenditures; maintains and reconciles account budgets; evaluates against budget guidelines.
Performs variance analysis (budget vs. actuals, forecast vs. actuals).
Reviews financial results, identifies budget variances, and provides recommendations to support sound financial management.
Communicates with EdPlus and ASU staff on their financial plans and answers policy, budget, and procedure questions.
Supports efforts to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and consistency of accounting and financial reporting processes.
Supports month-end and year-end close with financial reporting and analysis.
Prepares recurring and ad hoc financial reports for leadership and departmental stakeholders.
Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
NOTE : This is an in-person, hybrid position. You must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
Experience working at ASU or another higher education institution.
Experience in budgeting and financial planning.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Evidence of strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and financial analysis functions.
Experience in preparing financial reports and account reconciliations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing and potentially conflicting priorities.
Demonstrated willingness and desire for continuous learning and advancing personal skillset.
Evidence of strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Experience with financial management systems such as Workday, Adaptive, or similar ERP systems.
Salary & Benefits:
$54,600 - $67,000 per year; DOE
