As the Client Engagement Manager, you will play a key role across the full client lifecycle - from initial engagement and opportunity shaping through to proposal development and handover into delivery.
You'll work closely with the senior leaders within Toll Uncrewed Systems and the business development team at Toll Aviation to understand our
customer needs, align capability, and position Toll as a trusted, provider of uncrewed solutions for, training, mission‑critical operations and consultancy.
Responsibilities
Client & Market Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships across Defence, government agencies, emergency services and corporate clients
Engage with program managers, procurement teams and operational leaders to understand mission requirements
Identify capability gaps, emerging needs and opportunities for contract expansion
Business Development & Growth
Assist in the development and execution of a business plan that focuses on long term contract growth for TUS
Identify and respond to upcoming tenders, grants and funding programs
Lead engagement from initial discussions through to solution scoping and alignment
Solution & Proposal Development
Shape tailored uncrewed aviation service offerings to meet customer mission profiles
Lead EOIs, RFIs, RFTs, grant applications and proposals
Support commercial modelling, pricing and risk mitigation strategies
Stakeholder & Industry Leadership
Provide regular pipeline reporting and strategic insights to leadership
Monitor UAS technology trends, CASA regulatory changes and Defence capability planning
Represent Toll at industry events, trials, demonstrations and briefings
About you:
You are commercially astute, relationship‑driven and comfortable operating in a variety of corporate, private and public environments. You can translate operational requirements into compelling, compliant solutions and bring internal teams together to deliver.
5-10+ years' experience in business development, client engagement or strategic partnerships within Defence, government, aviation, emergency services or technology sectors
Proven success securing or supporting contracts with Defence or government agencies
Strong understanding of government procurement, tendering and capability planning cycles
Experience working in complex, technical or operational service environments
Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder‑management skills
High ethical standards and a strong commitment to safety
