High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
At least 5 years in a food manufacturing environment required, with a broad knowledge in one or more of the following areas: HACCP, USDA, GMP, and SSOPs.
Prior supervisory experience in food manufacturing preferred.
Computer Skills :
Standard computer skills required. Proficient computer skills capable of generating customer letters and spreadsheets. Must be capable of mastering EIM , SAP and warehouse inventory systems to provide support and training to plant FSQA and other Team Members.
Communication Skills :
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrating the proven ability to correspond with all levels-from front line team members to corporate management.
Special Skills :
Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while interacting with various facets within the organization.
Serve as the plant liaison to USDA/FDA.
Supervisory :
Manage crewing labor and attendance of the FSQA department.
Physical Requirements:
Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
Must be able to work in wet environment
Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification

Job Summary:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager is responsible for the daily management of all activities within the FSQA department, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role includes the implementation and execution of food safety programs, adherence to specifications, and maintaining product quality within the assigned facility. The FSQA Manager will also oversee departmental budgets, turnover, safety, and special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy Adherence : Ensure all Tyson FSQA policies and procedures are followed.
Leadership : Lead FSQA Supervisors and FSQA Technicians, including selection and training.
Production Verification : Oversee production practices from raw material/live animal receiving through finished product quality and Food Safety Systems.
Sanitation Support : Monitor preoperational and operational sanitation.
Program Development : Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP/HARPC & SSOP programs.
Quality Assurance : Ensure finished products conform to customer specifications and are properly labeled.
Reporting : Report product issues and audit results to plant and corporate FSQA management, corporate sales, R&D, and operations.
Customer Interaction : Engage with customers and their agents for product showings, plant tours, and audits.
Complaint Management : Conduct investigations and respond to quality-related customer complaints or complaint trends.
Analytical Monitoring : Monitor analytical results.
New Product Commercialization : Participate in the commercialization of new products.
