In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Malvern, PA
Shift: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am (Sunday-Thursday)
Hourly Rate: $21.00 + 15% shift differential ($3.15/hr.) = $24.15/hr.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Mechanical Aptitude: Experience in mechanically inclined roles (e.g., mechanic, technician, nurse's aide, or similar) strongly preferred.
Scientific Experience: 3-4 years of experience in a scientific, laboratory, or technical environment preferred.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with IATA, ADR, and IMDG guidelines is a plus.
Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate electronic documentation systems and perform data capture, analysis, and reporting across various IT platforms.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in completing tasks.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, partnering with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to achieve results.
Customer Service: Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Good Laboratory Practices: Understanding of Good Laboratory Standards and compliance expectations.
Work Ethic: Self-starter with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to team-based tasks.

Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will be liable for:
Equipment Calibration: Perform on-site calibration of laboratory instruments, including pH meters and various equipment, across 6-7 buildings.
Documentation: Record calibration activities in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and MES system.
Team Collaboration: Work independently and in small teams (1-2 associates), with peer checks to verify calibration accuracy.
Daily Workflow: Begin each day by reviewing and responding to emails, then proceed with assigned calibration tasks.
Cross-Training: Receive training to support calibration activities in all onsite buildings.
Clean Room Work: Complete gowning procedures (double gowning) to enter cleanrooms and perform calibration responsibilities.
Work Orders & Safety Protocols: Open work orders and apply lockout tags to equipment that cannot be calibrated.
Water Bath Maintenance: Drain, clean, and refill water baths as needed.
PPE Compliance: Consistently use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, rubber gloves, a lab coat, and steel-toe shoes.
