Grade 5 (Salaried) Position Description: The Research Coordinator V in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Disorders will primarily be responsible for leading teams in the collection and management of patient-reported data and abstraction into databases. This position coordinates research broadly across all Department divisions. Activities will include leading our team of physicians, coordinators, residents, and students on research activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Directly perform or oversee team performance to identify participants eligible for clinical/observational studies, obtain informed consent, collect study data, schedule and coordinate follow-up visits, and verify the integrity of the data, troubleshooting as necessary. Collaborate closely with faculty on study design and feasibility; be responsible for IRB compliance; track study activities for documentation of time, effort and materials; arrange team meetings; and prepare study documents. Development, oversight and management of research databases (Airtable, Excel, REDCap) is essential. Oversee resident and medical student research administrative activities, including onboarding, project assignment, meeting scheduling and troubleshooting. Provide consultation on project problems and implement any necessary changes and consult with research faculty on multiple projects to assure clinical feasibility and IRB compliance. Potential opportunities to assist with grant applications may include completion of online forms, formatting and verification of accuracy of documentation, uploading file attachments, and verification of application completeness. Bench/laboratory work for collection and processing of human biological samples, and assisting with animal model studies, may also occasionally be needed. Target Compensation Maximum: $70,623.00 Target Compensation Minimum: $47,048.00 Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
