The Role & W hat Y ou W ill B e D oing As Viatris continues expanding its portfolio of innovative and value-added medicines, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Market Access to lead our Market Access efforts in Spain. This Director-level position plays a critical role in shaping and executing national strategies for pricing, reimbursement, and access across the product lifecycle-from pipeline to launch and post-launch optimization. The Head of Market Access will lead cross-functional coordination, engage with key national stakeholders (including HTA bodies, payers, and policy influencers), and ensure that the value of Viatris' medicines is clearly communicated and supported with robust evidence. The role is part of the local leadership team and reports to the Country Manager, with strong functional alignment to the European and Global Market Access leadership. Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference , and here's how the Director, Head of Market Access Spain role will make an impact: Strategic Leadership Develop and lead the execution of integrated Market Access strategies for Spain across all therapeutic areas, with a primary focus on innovative and value-added medicines. Lead and coordinate submissions to Spanish HTA and pricing authorities (AEMPS, CIPM, Interministerial Pricing Committee), ensuring compliance and maximizing probability of success. Shape access conditions, pricing corridors, and reimbursement pathways in alignment with business and regional/global objectives. Ensure ongoing ownership of portfolio pricing strategy, including lifecycle price management, mitigation of price erosion in collaboration with the global pricing team. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Commercial, Policy, Health Economics, and Global Pricing teams to drive access readiness and evidence generation plans. Serve as the key Market Access representative on launch teams and product-specific steering committees in Spain. Ensure adaptation of core value dossiers and economic models to Spanish requirements. Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain trusted relationships with payer organizations, HTA agencies, policy makers, and healthcare system influencers. In collaboration with Policy team actively contribute to shaping the external access environment to support patient access and business sustainability. Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead and develop the local Market Access function, with direct responsibility for Regional Access activities and oversight of related initiatives across Spain. Contribute to capability building in access, pricing, and health economics across the affiliate. About Y our S kills & E xperience For this role, we're looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills , and experiences: Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, health economics, or public health. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Market Access in Spain, including direct HTA and pricing negotiations. Strong technical understanding of HEOR principles, including the ability to interpret and apply health economic models, burden of illness data, and real-world evidence to support pricing and reimbursement submissions. Proven track record of leading Market Access strategies for recently launched innovative medicines in Spain.
