The purpose of the Digital Modeller role is to translate technical intent into intelligent, coordinated and constructible digital models that enable safe, efficient and sustainable project outcomes across the full asset life cycle. As part of Aurecon's Global Design Centre, the Digital Modeller plays a critical role in optimising asset design through advanced 2D and 3D modelling, close collaboration with engineers, designers and clients, and the disciplined application of Aurecon's digital and quality standards. The role supports Aurecon's Digital Futures and Design to Innovate ambitions by leveraging emerging technologies, cloud collaboration and federated modelling to improve decision-making, reduce risk and enhance the client experience. Drafters and Modellers plan the design prior to it being constructed, by preparing drawings or plans using various technology. Role involves the application of planning, technical, and mathematical knowledge and methods to design, implement, and achieve specified characteristics and criteria for products, processes, or events. Modellers usually work with 3D applications. Optimises the technical design for assets, through engagement with colleagues and clients. Interprets and expands technical details for assets using drawings, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations made by engineers, surveyors or scientists etc. Ability to use intermediate to advanced 2D drafting (CAD) or 3D modelling (e.g. Revit) systems to produce outputs which may feed drawings or federated models. Ability to train and impart technical and 3D drafting knowledge to less experienced drafters. Demonstrates expertise in area of discipline (civil/ electrical/mechanical). Applies broader knowledge of quality and safety standards to complete the design. Developing deep technical and digital expertise. Promotes new and emerging technologies and ways of working, as part of Aurecon's digital futures platform. Plans resources of small, short term projects or parts of larger projects, applying Aurecon methodology and complying with all policies.
