WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US The Lead Data Advisor in the Data Management team at SimCorp, at the IC4 grade, is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on data management practices to ensure that data systems are aligned with business requirements and regulatory standards. With typically 8+ years of experience in data management and data governance, this role involves leading data strategy initiatives, optimizing data processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data accessibility, quality, and security. The Lead Data Advisor ensures that data solutions support decision-making, business operations, and compliance efforts across the organization. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Provide professional advice on data management practices, helping teams develop data strategies that support business goals and ensure compliance with data governance standards Lead the development of data policies, frameworks, and governance practices to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and security of data across the organization Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and data specialists to identify data requirements and design solutions that align with organizational needs Drive data quality initiatives, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and accessible for decision-making and reporting Oversee the management and optimization of data flows, ensuring seamless integration between systems and platforms Mentor and provide guidance to junior data advisors and analysts, supporting their development in data management best practices Monitor and report on data performance, providing actionable insights to leadership on areas for improvement Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to data governance, security, and privacy policies Work with stakeholders to identify data-related challenges and develop solutions that improve data operations and support business growth Stay up to date with emerging data management technologies and trends, advising the organization on opportunities for improvement Type of work this role engages with Leading data strategy and governance initiatives to ensure data management practices align with business and regulatory needs Collaborating with business and IT teams to design and implement data solutions that meet organizational goals Overseeing data quality management and improving the accessibility and usability of data across systems Mentoring junior data professionals and guiding teams to adopt best practices in data management Monitoring and improving data performance and governance standards Advising leadership on data-related challenges and opportunities to optimize operations WHAT WE VALUE Hard Skills: Comprehensive understanding of Securities Operations and trade life cycle functions, including trade capture, validation, and settlement processes. Extensive product knowledge of Security Master and Enterprise Data Management (EDM) systems, covering instrument setup and governance. Skilled in vendor data expertise, including the ability to perform cost impact analysis for market and reference data services. Practical experience with vendor data processing, including data mutation and creation of golden-copy records within security master platforms, with a focus on design and functional aspects. Advanced proficiency in data modeling, particularly for onboarding and structuring new asset classes. Solid understanding of middle office and back-office functions and their integration with reference data workflows. Ability to prepare and maintain functional documentation, including data flow diagrams and design specifications for system enhancements and process changes. Experience in client onboarding, encompassing stakeholder communication, requirements gathering, effort estimation, and project management for data-related initiatives.
