Solutions Engineer Compute and Storage Transport (CST) - Israel & EMEA

About the role

The Solution Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enabling sales on VIAVI CST solutions in Israel and EMEA region. The Solution Engineer will work closely with the Lab & Production Sales team and with selected Channel Partners and he/she will take responsibility of any technical demonstrations and presentations in front of customers. The individual will have to transfer product and related technology knowledge to the Customers, dedicated CST Sales people and Channel Partners. In conjunction with Sales, this person will be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in region. The Solution Engineer is responsible for the CST products introduction, demos, and proof of concept testing in Israel and the rest of EMEA region. The Solution Engineer is expected to drive issues to successful resolution proactively while pulling support from the wider "Global CST Solutions Engineer Team" and CST Business Unit in the US. This role is based in home office in Israel with regular travel abroad. Duties & Responsibilities: Deliver pre- and post-sales support to our customers in Israel & EMEA for our CST portfolio (hands-on on product). Deliver product and technology presentations at targeted local roadshows/technical seminars/webinars. Quickly develop deep knowledge of customers' technical challenges that inhibit their ability to achieve stated product / service delivery objectives. Demonstrating strength and experience in solution and value selling and the ability to build and demonstrate solid business cases that supports the value proposition. Developing customer advocates who sell and build consensus and the ability to influence key decision makers. Effectively work with internal/external teams to anticipate and qualify customer needs. Work with VIAVI Support and overseas Engineering teams to help solve customer issues. Help customers write CST API-based scripts and programs for automating their testing. Identify customer evolving requirements and communicate these requirements/feature requests to Product Marketing. Transfer basics of product and technologies knowledge to Customers & Channel Partners during specific and regular training sessions. Actively participate in the Global Solutions Engineer virtual meetings: feedback on deals, technical inputs, local market needs, challenges, successes, recovery plans, etc. Regular travel to customer locations in Israel and rest of EMEA region. Occasional travel overseas is required as well. Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements: University degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering or equivalent experience. At least 5 years' experience in Field Application Engineer (or equivalent) in industry (T&M, Systems, Semiconductor, etc.) or working on compute & storage network technologies and/or protocols. Detailed understanding of PC architecture and various commonly used buses. Knowledge of PCI express, CXL, SAS/ SATA, Ethernet technologies & protocols. Good Understanding of signal integrity and experience in using lab equipment such as Protocol Analyzers/ Exercisers, Oscilloscopes, Traffic Generators, Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT), etc. Good knowledge in board and system design considerations, e.g., power supply design. Experience in silicon design/bring up is highly preferred. Experience in working with Linux OS. Hardware design experience related to high-speed subsystem design, High-speed IO protocols, on-chip interconnect would be much appreciated. Strong programming skills in C, C++ & Python. Personal Qualifications: Professional-level communication skills, including ability to adjust communication to technical level of audience, and stay calm and focused in negative situations. Excellent follow-up and organizational skills, with a passion or love for solving problems. Ability to pick up new technical knowledge as products, technologies, markets and applications as they evolve. Ability to listen to, and understand, the opinions of others while holding or promoting strong personal views when appropriate. Ability to work with regional and global teams. Self-motivated, working independently and willing to accept challenges . Strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluent English and Hebrew.
