Bachelor's degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration, Recreation, Exercise Science, Athletic/Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Requires 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in collegiate recreation or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Accredited (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc.) Personal Training and Group Fitness Instructor certification required.
Experience in establishing and facilitating strategic goals, developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience in program data management, fiscal integrity and transparency.
Ability to teach and develop a strong emphasis on student development philosophy and a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and creating an environment of inclusion.
Excellent written communication skills; ability to write concise, logical reports and hold engaging conversations with community members and have a presence among membership.
Proficient in computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.

This position is responsible for program scheduling, instructor supervision, training, risk management, and program assessment while contributing to revenue growth and community experience goals.

Job Responsibilities
Coordinate and administer all group exercise programming including schedule development, class coverage, and program implementation.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student and part-time group exercise instructors to ensure high-quality instruction and safe program delivery.
Support program growth initiatives through outreach, promotional collaboration with Membership & Marketing, and development of new class formats aligned with participation trends.
Ensure compliance with risk management protocols including instructor certifications, incident reporting, and emergency response procedures.
Assist with budgeting processes including payroll coordination, equipment inventory monitoring, and program expense tracking.
Monitor program participation data and assist in assessment reporting to support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Wellness on wellbeing initiatives, special events, and cross-program engagement opportunities.
Provide occasional instructional coverage and support special events, orientations, or campus outreach initiatives.
Support student staff training initiatives related to customer experience, professionalism, and program delivery standards.
