Own the transformation layer: Design and build the SQL-based models (increasingly in dbt) that turn raw, messy private-markets data into the analytics-grade foundation our entire Insights product is built on. If the numbers our customers trust are right, it's because your models are right.
Shape what customers actually see: Build and evolve the semantic and BI layer (today, LookML and Looker) - the dashboards and reports that fund managers and administrators use to run their business.
Guard data integrity and security: Build rigorous testing into everything you ship - because a single wrong number erodes customer trust - and design the row-level security and data access controls that ensure every customer sees exactly their data and nothing else.
Know the end user better than they expect: Develop a deep understanding of how our customers actually work across fundraising, fund management, and distributions - so you can solve for the use case behind the request, not just the request itself.
Translate complex requirements into solutions you own end to end: Partner with our North America team to take complex business requirements and turn them into clean technical specifications, data models, and working solutions - owning the build from first design to final delivery.
Solve the hard SQL problems: Write and optimize complex queries for extraction, transformation, and performance - the kind where the obvious approach doesn't scale and you have to find the one that does.
Modernize alongside the platform: As our underlying data infrastructure evolves, refactor and re-point our models and dashboards onto new tooling - keeping the product running while the ground shifts underneath it.
Use AI tools to accelerate every step of development. Apply AI-assisted tools like Claude Code and Cursor across the development lifecycle - from exploring data and drafting models to writing tests, debugging, and documentation - to ship better work, faster.

About your role
Juniper Square is looking for an Analytics Engineer to drive the technical development of our Insights data product. In this individual contributor role, you'll build and maintain the data models, transformation logic, and visualizations that power analytics for our customers.
While this role is not customer-facing, it is highly collaborative. You'll act as the technical engine of our Data Product Services team, partnering closely with our North America-based team members to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering and Product to build and evolve the data models and BI layer that power our Insights product - including as our underlying data platform modernizes around us.
